How we judge a product
Ingredients
Does the formula contain proven ingredients at useful levels for its claim?
Texture & feel
How it spreads, absorbs and feels after 10 minutes and after a full day.
Skin-type fit
Who it suits: oily, dry, sensitive, acne-prone or mature skin.
Value
Price per use, packaging that protects the formula, and how long it lasts.
Checklist
Our review checklist
Patch test
48 hours on the inner arm or jawline before full use.
Minimum trial
Two weeks for makeup and cleansers, 6–8 weeks for serums with active claims.
Real conditions
Tested through heat, humidity, workdays and long wear.
No paid placement
Beauty World does not accept payment for verdicts or rankings.
Verdicts
Category verdicts
Cleansers
Gentle, low-foam, fragrance-free cleansers beat harsh foaming washes for most skin.
Serums
Pick one goal: vitamin C for glow, niacinamide for oil and pores, retinoid for ageing.
Sunscreen
The best SPF is the one you enjoy wearing daily — broad-spectrum SPF 30+.
Foundation
Undertone match and finish matter more than price; always test on the jawline in daylight.
Mascara
Tubing formulas suit sensitive eyes and remove easily; replace every 3 months.
Shampoo
Match to scalp, not lengths: clarifying for oil, gentle for dry or coloured hair.
Red flags
Claims to question
Miracle results
"Instant wrinkle removal" or "cures acne" are marketing, not science.
Chemical-free
Everything is chemicals; the label tells you nothing about safety.
Clinically proven
Ask: proven how, on how many people, for how long?
Influencer only
One person's glowing review isn't a test across skin types.
