Moisture in, friction out.
01

Why

What causes frizz

Humidity

Dry hair pulls water from the air and swells.

Damage

Heat and bleach lift the cuticle.

Friction

Rough towels and cotton pillowcases rough up strands.

Dryness

Curly and coily hair is naturally drier.

02

Wash day

A smoothing routine

Use a gentle shampoo on the scalp only, then a generous conditioner on the lengths. Detangle with a wide-tooth comb while conditioner is in. Rinse with cool water, squeeze out water with a microfiber towel or T-shirt, then apply a leave-in and a drop of oil while hair is damp.

03

Products

What to look for

Leave-in conditioner

Keeps moisture in all day.

Anti-humidity serum

Silicones seal the cuticle against damp air.

Heat protectant

A must before any hot tool.

Weekly mask

Deep conditioning for dry lengths.

04

Habits

Protect it daily

Sleep on silk or satin, avoid brushing curls dry, keep heat low and get regular trims to remove split ends.

Common questions

How do I stop frizz instantly?

Smooth a pea-sized drop of serum or oil over the top layer of hair with flat palms.

Does cutting hair help frizz?

Trimming split ends helps, because damaged ends frizz the most.

Is frizz a sign of damage?

Sometimes. It can also simply mean your hair is dry or naturally curly.
