What it is
Two cleansers, two jobs
The first step uses an oil or balm to dissolve sunscreen, makeup and sebum. The second step uses a gentle water-based cleanser to remove what's left.
Who needs it
Is it right for you?
Yes, if…
You wear long-lasting makeup, water-resistant sunscreen, or have oily skin.
Maybe not, if…
You wear little makeup or have very dry, sensitive skin. One gentle cleanse may be enough.
Method
How to double cleanse
1. Dry hands, dry face
Massage oil or balm for 30–60 seconds.
2. Emulsify
Add a little water until it turns milky, then rinse.
3. Second cleanse
Use a pea-sized amount of gentle cleanser and rinse with lukewarm water.
4. Evening only
Most people only need to double cleanse at night.
